The Canadian dollar rose to a 5-day high of 83.11 against the Japanese yen around 7:55 am ET Wednesday, compared to 82.89 hit late New York Tuesday. The loonie-yen pair is presently worth 83.03 with 85.20 seen as the next likely resistance level.
