Dutch jobless rate remained unchanged at 5.5% in July, the Central Bureau of Statistics said Thursday. However, on a unadjusted basis, the unemployment rate rose slightly to 5.7% in July from 5.6% June. The rate was 5.2% in the corresponding period last year.

During July, the number of unemployed persons was 449,000 on an unadjusted basis. The unadjusted jobless rate increased for the second month in a row.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of unemployed persons decreased by 4,000 in July from the previous month. The seasonally adjusted labor force participation rate edged up to 67% in July from 66.9% in June.

The Dutch economy expanded 2.1% year-on-year in the first quarter, and a 0.9% growth was recorded sequentially. In the first quarter, the annual growth was 0.6%.
