The Australian dollar edged sharply lower against the currencies of Europe and Japan in early New York trading on Thursday.
The aussie plunged to a 3-day low of 1.4349 against the euro around 9:20 am ET, compared to yesterday's close of 1.4314. On the downside, the aussie may find support around the 1.4430 level.
Against the yen, the aussie slipped to a 2-day low of 76.56 at this time and the next likely support level for the pair is seen at 76.20. The aussie-yen pair that closed yesterday's deals at 76.79 is presently quoted at 76.69.
