At 10.00 a.m. ET, the Conference Board will table its report on the U.S. leading indicators index for July. Economists expect a 0.2% gain in the leading indicators index for the month following a 0.2% decline in the previous month.
The results of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve's manufacturing survey for August will also be released at the same time. Economists expect the diffusion index of current activity for August to show a reading of 7.5 following a reading of 5.10 in the previous month.
The US dollar remained weaker against its major rivals ahead of the data. At present, the greenback is quoted at 1.5660 against the pound, 1.0297 versus the Swiss franc, 85.21 against the yen and 1.2878 against the euro.
