The Australian dollar edged sharply lower against its major rivals around 10:00 am ET Thursday as risk averse traders flee from high-yielding currencies following some weak economic data from the U.S.
At present, the aussie is trading at a 3-day low of 76.03 against the yen and 1.4389 against the euro. On the downside, the Australian currency may find target levels at 1.4470 against the euro and 75.60 versus the yen.
Against the US dollar, the aussie is worth a 2-day low of 0.8948 and the next likely support level for the pair is seen at 0.8910.
