Tuesday in early deals, the Indian rupee plunged to near a 6-week low against the U.S. dollar on weak stocks.

India's benchmark BSE Sensex is currently down nearly 95.83 points or 0.53% at 17,934.10 and the National Stock Exchange's S&P CNX Nifty is drifting lower by 29.90 points or 0.55% to 5,385.20.
The rupee is currently worth 47.08 per dollar and if the Indian currency falls further, it may likely target the 47.44 level.
