Automobile production in Japan rose 16.8% year-on-year to 742,247 units in July, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association said on Tuesday.
Production of passenger cars rose 16%, and those of trucks was up 21.9%. Bus production increased 24.7%.
Meanwhile, domestic sales of automobiles in Japan climbed 12.9% to 486,606 units, JAMA said. Passenger car sales increased 12.9%.
