Estonian retail sales decreased 1% in July from the prior year, Statistics Estonia reported Tuesday. But this was notably smaller than the 7% decline seen in June. The decrease of the retail sales in July was the smallest of the current year, the statistical office said.

In July, the retail sales of goods of retail trade enterprises were almost EEK 5 billion. Compared to the previous month, the retail sales in retail trade enterprises grew 2%. According to the seasonally and working-day adjusted data, the retail sales advanced 1%.

In July, the revenues from sales of retail trade enterprises were EEK 6.1 billion, out of which the retail sales of goods accounted for 81%. On a yearly basis, the revenues from sales increased 5% at current prices.
