Spanish current account deficit widened in June from the previous year, a report by the Bank of Spain showed on Tuesday.

The current account deficit totaled EUR 3.58 billion in June, widening from EUR 3.48 billion deficit last year. This was mainly due to rise in trade deficit from the previous year and decline in services surplus, the report showed. The trade deficit widened to EUR 4.08 billion from EUR 2.80 billion a year ago.

The capital account showed a surplus of EUR 126.5 million, but smaller than EUR 150.5 million surplus last year. At the same time, the financial account surplus dropped to EUR 4.63 billion from Eur 5.43 billion a year ago.
