The euro area's unemployment rate remained unchanged at 10% in July, in line with expectations, official figures showed on Tuesday.
Eurostat said a total of 15.8 million people were registered unemployed in the eurozone, with the number of unemployed decreasing by 8,000 compared to the previous month. The male unemployment rate was at 9.8%, while the female unemployment rate was 10.3%.
The lowest unemployment rate in the euro area was recorded in Austria (3.8%), while the highest was in Spain (20.3%).
In the European Union as a whole, the unemployment rate was 9.6%, unchanged from June.
