The S&P/Case-Shiller home price index, which tracks monthly changes in the value of residential real estate in 20 metropolitan regions across the U.S., is scheduled to be released at 9:00 AM ET. Economists expect a 3.5% year-over-year decline in the 20-city composite house price index in June.
The US dollar showed weakness against its major rivals ahead of the data. Currently, the dollar is quoted at 1.5397 against the pound, 1.2717 verus the euro, 1.017 against the Swiss franc and 84.22 against the yen.
