Import price inflation in Greece eased for the third consecutive month in July, the Hellenic Statistical Authority said Monday.
Import price inflation slowed to 6% year-on-year in July from 6.2% growth in June. Though inflation has eased, prices have been rising since October last year. A year earlier, import prices declined 6.4%.
The import price index for the Eurozone Market increased 1.3% annually and for the non-Eurozone Market, the index rose 10.9%.
By industrial groups, import prices of intermediate goods climbed 2.9% annually and that of capital goods remained unchanged. Import prices of durable consumer goods and non-durable consumer goods moved up 1.2% and 0.8% respectively. Import prices of energy surged 22.8%.
On a monthly basis, import prices declined 0.7% in July, compared to 0.6% increase in the previous month. Import prices of intermediate goods fell 0.1% and for durable consumer goods prices rose 0.1%. Import prices declined 0.1% for non-durable consumer goods.
