Against its Mexican counterpart, the dollar traded lower during New York morning deals on Monday. At about 8:20 am ET, the pair touched 12.8449, which may be compared to last Friday's closing value of 12.9274. This set a 3-week low for the US currency. Presently, the greenback is worth 12.86.

Mexico's industrial output increased less than expected in July, the statistical office INEGI said on Monday.

Industrial production increased 5.4% on an annual basis in July, compared to a 7% growth expected by economists'. At the same time, manufacturing output grew 8.8%, while mining output rose 5.3%. Production of electricity, water and gas supply pipeline rose 5.5%.

On a monthly basis, industrial output grew a seasonally adjusted 0.27% in July, while manufacturing output rose 0.40%. Mining output increased 2.03%.
