Wednesday, the Philippines National Statistical Office announced that the retail price index in the National Capital Region increased 8.6% year-over-year in October, slower than the 11.6% recorded in the previous month.
In October, the food price index increased 8.5% on an annual basis, compared with a 10.8% rise in September. At the same time, beverages and tobacco prices were up 6.8%.
On a monthly basis, retail prices declined 1.6% in October, after falling 1.2% in September.
