Malta's EU inflation measure accelerated further in September, preliminary data from the National Statistics Office showed Friday.
The harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, rose 2.5 percent year-on-year following a 2.4 percent increase in August.
Restaurants and hotels registered a 4.1 percent jump in prices, followed by a 3.8 increase in the transport group.
Lowest annual inflation rate was seen in the communication group, where prices fell 1.9 percent. Clothing and footwear prices dropped 1.1 percent.
Compared to the previous month, the HICP fell 0.8 percent in September.
