New Zealand had a current account deficit of NZ$759 million in the second quarter of 2019, Statistics New Zealand said on Wednesday.
That beat forecasts for a shortfall of NZ$790 million following the NZ$675 million surplus in the three months prior.
New Zealand's seasonally adjusted current account deficit was NZ$2.4 billion.
The current account deficit for the year ended June 2019 widened to NZ$10.2 billion (3.4 percent of GDP) from the NZ$9.3 billion deficit for the June 2018 year (3.2 percent of GDP).
