Australia's trade surplus increased on higher exports, data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed Thursday. The trade surplus increased to a seasonally adjusted A$5.8 billion from A$4.07 billion in October. The surplus was forecast to rise slightly to A$4.1 billion.
Exports of goods and services rose 2 percent to A$40.89 billion. Non-rural goods exports gained 3 percent and shipment of rural goods climbed A$9 million.
On the other hand, imports of goods and services fell 3 percent to A$35.09 billion as imports of consumption goods were down 7 percent, data showed.
