The U.S. durable goods orders for August are due at 8:30 am ET Friday. The greenback climbed against its major counterparts before the data.
The greenback was worth at 105.49 against the yen, 1.1629 against the euro, 1.2729 against the pound and 0.9284 against the franc at 8:25 am ET.
