Tuesday, Belgium's National Institute of Statistics announced that the Consumer Price Index or CPI rose 2.63% year-over-year in December, slower than the 3.14% recorded in the previous month. This was the lowest level since October 2007. The annual decline in CPI was mainly due to fall in petrol, diesel and heating oil prices.
Month-on-month, consumer prices declined 0.21% in December, compared with a 0.6% fall in the prior month.
Meanwhile, the health index rose 0.15 points on a monthly basis in December.
