In August 2025, the HCOB Germany Services PMI adjusted to 50.1, a slight decline from July's four-month peak of 50.6 and below the anticipated 50.3, according to preliminary estimates. This figure indicates almost stagnant growth, highlighted by a modest decrease in new business, following a brief uptick. Employment experienced a minor increase, continuing a steady upward trend since the start of the year, while the backlog of business saw a more pronounced and rapid decline. Regarding pricing, both input costs, likely influenced by rising wages, and the inflation of output prices, saw an acceleration. Despite these fluctuations, companies generally maintained a positive outlook for the upcoming year, although confidence did show a slight decrease and remained just above its historical average.
