In June 2025, Hungary experienced a 9.7% year-on-year increase in gross average wages, rising to HUF 704,000. This represents an acceleration from the 7.8% growth observed in the previous month. The increase was notably propelled by more rapid wage growth across all sectors: private (9.7% growth compared to 7.4% in May), public (9.5% compared to 9%), and non-profit (10.7% compared to 8.3%). Excluding the effects of one-off payments and bonuses, June wages were 9.5% higher than the same period the previous year, reaching HUF 655,600. For the first half of the year, average gross wages increased by 9.2%.
