In the second quarter of 2025, Australia's private sector saw a modest increase in new capital expenditure on buildings and structures, growing by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter. This reflects a deceleration from the 1.0% upwardly revised growth observed in the prior quarter. Analyzing by industry, the most significant increases in capital expenditure were recorded in construction (35.6%), followed by professional, scientific, and technical services (20.1%), financial and insurance services (13.2%), manufacturing (11.6%), and retail trade (8.9%).
