Azerbaijan's economy experienced a 1% year-on-year expansion for the January to August period, a slight improvement from the 0.9% growth observed from January to July. However, this growth rate marks a deceleration compared to the 4.3% increase recorded during the same timeframe last year. Within the economy, the non-oil and gas sector grew by 2.6%, whereas the oil and gas sector saw a decline of 2.1%. On the production front, the key sectors driving GDP growth included industry, contributing 34.9%, trade and vehicle repair at 10.3%, transportation and warehousing at 7.1%, along with agriculture, forestry, fishing, and construction, each contributing 6.3%.
