Japan’s S&P Global Services PMI inched up to 53.8 in February 2026 from 53.7 in January, according to flash estimates. This was the highest reading since May 2024, supported by the fastest growth in new orders in 22 months. Employment continued to rise, although the pace of hiring slowed compared with the previous month. On the price front, service providers posted a sharper increase in selling prices than manufacturers, resulting in a notable overall rise in selling prices.
