Malaysia’s exports surged 19.6% year-on-year to MYR 146.87 billion in January 2026, beating market expectations of 13.7% and accelerating sharply from a slightly revised 10.2% increase in December. This was the fastest annual export growth since September 2022, driven by robust external demand ahead of the Lunar New Year and Ramadan across key Asian markets.
