Chile’s economic activity weakened in February 2026, with the year-over-year indicator declining to -0.3%, according to data updated on 1 April 2026. This marks a deeper contraction compared with January 2026, when the same indicator stood at -0.1% year-over-year.
The figures show that Chile’s economy has remained in negative territory for at least two consecutive months on an annual comparison basis, and that the pace of contraction has slightly intensified from January to February. The data compare activity in each month to the same month a year earlier, signaling that underlying momentum remains subdued as the country moves further into 2026.
