Uruguay’s manufacturing output grew 3.3% year-on-year in February 2026, recovering from a 1.5% contraction in January. The strongest gains came from food manufacturing, up 6.4%, followed by pharmaceutical products at 17.7% and beverages at 12.9%. By contrast, production of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers recorded the sharpest drop, plunging 45.3%. The Index of Hours Worked edged down 0.2% from a year earlier, while the Index of Employed Personnel slipped 0.3%.
