US stock futures inched about 0.1% higher on Thursday, following record closes for both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq in the previous session. Investor attention remained on corporate earnings, while optimism grew that a potential US–Iran agreement could bring an end to the conflict and lead to a swift reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
In premarket trading, PepsiCo advanced 0.8% after posting earnings and revenue that topped expectations, and Bank of New York Mellon added 0.3% after also beating forecasts. Charles Schwab and Netflix were little changed ahead of their scheduled earnings reports later in the day, while Abbott Laboratories edged up 0.4% before its own release.
Among megacap stocks, performance was mixed. Nvidia (-0.3%), Alphabet (-0.2%), Amazon (-0.1%), and Broadcom (-0.9%) traded lower, while Apple (+0.6%), Microsoft (+1.3%), Meta (+0.6%), and Tesla (+0.9%) posted gains in premarket activity.
