Poland’s retail sector lost momentum in April 2026, with year-over-year sales growth slowing to 2.8%, according to data updated on 25 May 2026. This marks a steep deceleration from March 2026, when retail sales had surged 9.8% compared with the same month a year earlier.
Both the current and previous readings are measured on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s performance to the corresponding month a year before. The April figure suggests that the strong pace seen in March was not sustained into the second quarter, signaling a more subdued consumer spending environment as the spring progressed.
