Speculative positioning in the Japanese yen has turned more negative, with traders expanding their net short exposure, according to the latest data released on 29 May 2026. CFTC figures show JPY speculative net positions falling to -114.7K contracts from a previous level of -93.9K.
The widening net short position suggests that market participants have grown more bearish on the yen compared with the prior reporting period.
