Israel’s industrial sector saw a sharp reversal in May 2026, with output falling 6.2% month-over-month, according to data updated on 26 July 2026. The decline follows an exceptionally strong April, when industrial production had jumped 29.9% compared with March 2026.
The figures highlight pronounced volatility in the sector over the past two months. While April’s surge suggested a powerful short-term rebound, May’s contraction indicates that part of that strength may have been temporary or linked to one-off factors. On a month-over-month basis, the latest reading shows that the pace of activity not only cooled but moved decisively into negative territory compared with the previous month’s expansion.
With “actual” data reflecting May’s change against April, and the “previous” figure capturing April’s jump versus March, investors and analysts will be watching upcoming releases closely to determine whether May’s drop marks the start of a softer trend or a correction after April’s outsized gain.
