Total credit extended to the Greek economy increased by 5.0% year-on-year in June 2026, up from 4.6% in May and reaching its fastest pace since December 2025. Credit to the private sector also strengthened, rising to 7.7% from 7.4% in the previous month. At the same time, the monthly net flow of credit remained positive, expanding to €3,288 million compared with €1,315 million in May.
Credit to the general government grew by 0.4% in June, following a month of zero growth, with the monthly net flow of credit staying in positive territory at €213 million, though this was lower than the €329 million recorded in May.
