The DAX 40 climbed more than 1% on Monday to above 25,400, its highest level in nearly three weeks, as improving US–Iran relations, softer oil prices, and declining bond yields lifted investor sentiment. The pullback in energy prices helped ease inflation worries and tempered expectations for further monetary tightening ahead of a busy week of central bank meetings and major technology earnings releases.

SAP led the advance, surging more than 7% after launching the second phase of its €10 billion share buyback programme and extending the positive momentum from its stronger-than-expected second-quarter results. Deutsche Telekom gained 2.6%, while Rheinmetall added 1.3%.

On the downside, Infineon fell 4.5% after shares in ASML retreated amid reports that a Chinese state-backed company is developing chipmaking equipment that could threaten ASML’s market position. Lower energy prices also pressured Siemens Energy, which slipped 2%, and E.ON, down 2.5%.
