Italy’s Banca Sella launches BTC trading via mobile app

The cryptocurrency industry has welcomed another positive development. Italy’s oldest bank, Banca Sella, founded in 1886 and serving over 1.4 million clients, has launched a new feature allowing its customers to trade Bitcoin through its Hype Plus mobile platform. The bank's customers can now step into the role of full-fledged participants in the cryptocurrency market.

With this new offering, Banca Sella clients will be able to buy, sell, and transfer BTC directly via the Hype Plus app. The service is currently in beta testing and is only available to a select group of premium Hype Plus members. The bank plans to extend Bitcoin access to all its customers in the near future.

According to the management of Banca Sella, cryptocurrency transactions can only be conducted through the Hype Plus banking platform, excluding third-party services. In addition, customers will be able to use BTC for payments at any location that accepts digital assets.

At the same time, the bank has imposed certain restrictions. For users with a basic Hype Start account, the annual trading volume of Bitcoin is capped at $2,700. For Plus and Premium account holders, the annual limit is increased to $54,000. Banca Sella believes that these limits will help manage risks more effectively. Furthermore, the company offers favorable conditions for active crypto traders.

Earlier, in 2020, the financial institution tested a similar crypto trading service. Banca Sella launched Bitcoin trading during the COVID-19 pandemic, responding to increased interest in digital assets.
