French Finance Minister Michel Sapin on Monday said that despite the rejection of Italians to constitutional overhaul, they are still strongly committed to the European, adding that there is no systemic risk to the euro zone.
He told reporters that the Italian referendum was not about the European Union. He added that Italy was a “solid country”.
Asked about a decline in the value of the euro, he said that previous strength had "not necessarily" been good for European exporters and that the exchange rate largely reflected strength in the dollar.
