Bank lending in June was down 2.1 percent on year in June, the Bank of Japan said on Thursday, standing at 394.43 trillion yen. Lending was also down 2.1 percent in May.
Including trusts, lending was down 2.0 percent to 457.028 trillion yen - also matching the rate of decline from the previous month.
The BoJ also said that M2 money stock was up 2.9 percent on year in June to 778.5 trillion yen. That was below expectations for a 3.1 percent annual increase, which was also the rate of gain in May.
M3 money stock collected 2.2 percent on year to 1078.7 trillion yen. That was slightly below expectations for a 2.3 percent gain after adding 2.3 percent in May.
