The Australian dollar edged sharply higher against its major rivals following the release of Australia's employment report for June at 9:30 pm ET. At present, the aussie is quoted at 0.8734 against the aussie, 1.2341 against the NZ dollar, 1.4530 against the euro and 77.05 against the yen.
