Mortgage lender Halifax will release the U.K. house price index for June at 4:00 am ET. The pound held steady against its major rivals ahead of the report. At present, the sterling is quoted at 134.10 against the yen, 0.8335 versus the euro, 1.5180 against the US dollar and 1.6030 versus the Swiss franc.
