The U.S. Labor Department is slated to release its customary jobless claims data for the week ended July 3 at 8:30 am ET Thursday. Ahead of the release of the report, the dollar soared against the yen, but it showed sideways movement against the euro, the pound and the franc.
At 8:25 am ET, the dollar was worth 1.5148 against the pound, 1.0523 against the franc, 88.16 against the yen and 1.2659 against the euro.
