The Canadian dollar declined against major opponents in New York morning deals on Monday. The loonie dropped to new multi-month low against the euro.

After edging up in early European session, the loonie traded lower against the US dollar and the Japanese yen in New York morning deals. At present, the loonie is trading near 82.15 against the yen and 1.0566 versus the greenback from early highs of 83.03 and 1.0502, respectively.

Extending previous session downtrend, the loonie plunged further against the euro in today's New York session. The loonie slipped to a new multi-month low of 1.3696 versus the euro by about 11:55 am ET, compared to last week's close of 1.3661.

The Canadian currency also edged down against Australian dollar in New York mid-day deals from previous session's gain. At 11:55 am ET, the loonie fell to 0.9184 versus the Aussie from early high of 0.9134. s of now, the pair is worth 1.9173.
