Danish jobless rate increased in June from the previous month.
The seasonally adjusted jobless rate rose to 4.2% in June from 4.1% in the previous month, a report by the Statistics Denmark showed on Thursday. The jobless rate was 4.2% in April. The unemployment rate for men and women was 4.8% and 3.5%, respectively.
The number of unemployed persons totaled 114,000 in June, larger than 112,900 persons in the previous month.
On an unadjusted basis, the jobless rate rose to 3.8% in June from 3.4% recorded a year ago. The number of unemployed persons increased to 104,300 from 93,100 in the previous year.
Danish economy expanded at a faster pace in the first quarter. The gross domestic product increased to 0.5% sequentially from 0.2% growth in the fourth quarter of 2009. The annual consumer price inflation eased to a six-month low of 1.7% in June, compared to 2.2% in the previous month.
