Following the release of the Commerce Department data on durable goods orders for July at 8.30 AM ET, the US dollar edged slightly lower against most of its major opponents. Currently, the greenback is worth 1.2624 per euro, 1.5416 per pound, 1.0294 against the Swiss franc and 84.30 versus the yen.
