Lithuanian retail sales increased in July from the previous month.
Retail sales at constant prices increased 2.5% month-on-month in July, a report by the Statistics Lithuania showed on Friday. A year earlier, retail sales increased 3.3%.
Retail sales of food products, alcoholic beverages and tobacco fell 1.3% on a monthly basis in July, while sales of non-food items grew 3.6%. Retail sales of textile, apparel, footwear climbed 12.2 %.
On an annual basis, retail sales fell 6.3% in July, following a 6.4% fall in June. For the first seven months of the year, retail sales slipped 9.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Meanwhile, retail sales, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles decreased 9.2% annually in July and was up 3.7% compared to the preceding month. In the January to July period, retail sales fell 11.8% over a year ago.
