Romania's industrial production rose 3.4% on an annual basis in July, the National Institute of Statistics said Wednesday. Manufacturing production grew 3.5% annually, while mining output rose 1.3%.
Production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply also recorded a 3.5% annual growth. Output in intermediate goods industry rose 11.1% year-on-year in July, while production of energy rose 1.5%.
Output in durable and capital goods industries increased 1.1% and 0.9% respectively, while there was a 2.3% drop in household goods production. Meanwhile, production adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality rose 2.3% from the same period last year.
After adjusting to seasonal and working-day variations, production declined 0.8% in June from the previous month. Output in manufacturing and utilities recorded a monthly decline, whereas mining output posted a growth. Month-on-month, industrial production dropped 2.3% on an unadjusted basis in July.
For the first seven months of the year, industrial output grew 5.3% over a year earlier on an unadjusted basis and recorded a 4% growth after adjusting to number of working days and seasonality.
