Seychelles consumer prices continued to decline in September, but at the slower pace, a report by the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Wednesday.
The consumer price index dropped 1.1% year-on-year in September, but slower than a 1.5% fall in the previous month. Consumer prices decreased for the tenth consecutive month, but it started easing since last April. A year earlier, consumer prices increased 29.3%.
Fish prices increased 14.9% annually in September, following a 21.9% rise in August. At the same time, other food prices dropped 3.3%, compared to a 4.1% fall in the previous month. Non-food prices slipped 0.8%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices remained unchanged in September, after rising 0.7% in August. Fish prices decreased 1.2% in September, but there was an increase of 0.1% in the price of non-food items. Price of other food dropped 0.2%.
