Chinese President Xi Jinping's team is willing to meet US President-elect Donald Trump's group at the World Economic Forum in Davos next week.
On Wednesday, Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong said there are open communication channels with Trump's team delegation.
He added bilateral talks on the sidelines of the annual meeting of business and political leaders are still being organized, but the country would take into account all the possible arrangements as long as the schedule permits and if there is a desire.
Li's comments come despite Trump's accusation the Asian nation employs protectionism and threat to impose tariffs on its imports.
Xi will become the first Chinese leader to join the meeting in the Swiss Alps as the country's delegation has been headed by Premier Li Keqiang in recent years.
