Japan's industrial output fell 0.5 pct in August down for the third straight month.
The data added to worries on economy struggling with a rising yen and slowing export growth.
The figure compared with an initial reading of a 0.3 pct decline and follows a 0.2 pct drop in the previous month.
The capacity utilisation index fell 0.9 pct in August from a month earlier to 88.3.
