The National Grain and Oils Information Center showed on its daily report that it estimated China to import 2 million tonnes in 2016/2017, 37 percent lower from a year ago, as profits from imports have plunged.
The think-tank said domestic corn's prices have fallen to nearly the same level as imported corn in the previous month.
China's corn imports for 2016/17 would be at 3 million tonnes, the United States agricultural department estimated earlier.
