Romania's producer prices rose 7.9% year-on-year in September, data from the National Institute of Statistics showed Tuesday.

Producer prices in mining industry recorded an increase of 4.34% annually and prices in manufacturing sector climbed 9.04%. Prices for the production and supply electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning grew 3% annually during the month.

Among main industrial groups, producer prices in the intermediate goods industry grew 9.15% and in capital industry the price index gained 1.89%. Prices in durable goods industry was down 0.25% and that of household goods industry increased 7.2%. In the energy sector, factory prices surged 11.2%.

On a monthly basis, producer prices climbed 1.38% in September following a 0.4% rise in August. Producer prices in mining and manufacturing industries grew 1.45% and 1.53% respectively.
