Hungary recorded a trade surplus of EUR 3.49 billion in the January to August period, up from EUR 2.08 billion surplus recorded a year ago, a final report by the Central Statistical Office showed on Tuesday.
Exports volume jumped 19% annually in the January to August period, while imports volume rose 16%. At current prices, exports and imports grew by 22% and 19% respectively, during the period.
In August, the trade balance showed a surplus of EUR 392 million, widening from EUR 240.7 million surplus in the previous month. Thus, the statistical office confirmed its preliminary estimate published on October 7th.
